Measurement tasks in industrial environments often come with challenging environmental conditions. Whether it is high or low temperatures, shock and vibrations, or permanent outdoor operations with dust and fog, or other adverse conditions, the laser distance meters and the industrial versions of the RIEGL laser scanners in combination with the additional protective housings are up for the job. 

As LiDAR is a non-contact measurement method, it allows for operation in environments that are hazardous or inaccessible for humans or other types of equipment. This reduces the risk of damage to equipment and injury to personnel. With its capability to capture data in 24/ 7 operations it is a perfect tool for stockpile management, fill grade control and volume calculations, or conveyor belt and spreader monitoring. 

Applications also include rangefinding in docking systems for railcars, air- and spacecrafts, or port operations, respective ship and container handling.
