The RIEGL staff in Austria comprises more than 250 highly skilled and motivated engineers, technicians, and other qualified employees. Main working place is Horn, an attractive small town in Lower Austria, around 85 km northwest of the Austrian capital Vienna, where research, development and production as well as administration, sales and support are concentrated. Additional working space is also offered in Vienna and Salzburg.

Apprenticeship in Mechatronics – Production Technology
m/f Fulltime, Work location 3580 Horn
This apprenticeship training focuses on the integration and commissioning of mechanical, electronic, and information technology components and assemblies. Apprentices in the field of mechatronics work with electronic, electro-optical, and mechatronic parts, components, and systems for machine, plant, and equipment manufacturing. Their tasks also include maintenance and service work on electronic and information technology components. Techniques such as soldering, crimping, pressing mechanical parts, wiring, assembly work, and bonding are used. Various mechatronic systems are put into operation, functions are configured, and parameters are set.
Duration of the Apprenticeship
total duration 3.5 years – divided as follows:
- Basic module mechatronics: 2 years
- Main module production engineering: 1.5 years

- Completion of nine years of compulsory schooling
- Interest in working with machines and tools
- Manual dexterity
- Technical understanding
- Careful working style
- Good basic knowledge of mathematics
- Logical and analytical thinking skills

Our company is subject to the collective agreement for employees in the iron and metal processing industry. For 2025, the gross monthly remuneration for apprentices in their first year amounts to €967.42 for a standard 38.5-hour week.
