Triple Scanner Mobile Mapping System for Rail Application
The triple scanner RIEGL VMX-RAIL system was especially developed to meet the unique challenges of the railway environment. These three synchronized scanners deliver an unmatched scan pattern in a single pass, ideal for capturing complex rail scenes with high precision. Housed in advanced environmental enclosures, the system ensures uninterrupted data collection and allows for hardware maintenance or upgrades without halting operations.
Optional camera integration enhances corridor documentation, providing detailed imagery that supports extraction software and modeling workflows. Utilizing RIEGL’s VUX-1HA sensors, the system delivers high-density data even at high speeds—making it a purpose-built solution for railway operators.
This unique scan pattern enables full-detail capture of rail infrastructure and is ideally suited for applications such as track alignment, ballast mapping, catenary alignment modeling, right-of-way clearance analysis, and asset mapping along the rail corridor.
