Under the theme “Getting Dirty – Back to the Roots of Cultural Heritage Work / Heritage in Action: From the Field to the Future” this year’s CHNT conference – organized by CHNT ICOMOS Austria –  brings together research, digital innovation, and heritage management to explore how advanced documentation and analysis methods support the protection, understanding, and communication of cultural heritage.

From November 11–13, 2026, researchers, practitioners, heritage managers, policymakers, students, and community representatives are invited to join us at the extraordinary venue of the Orangery at Schönbrunn Palace for an international, interdisciplinary exchange on the future of cultural heritage.

RIEGL will showcase its latest advancements in LiDAR technology, highlighting innovative solutions for high-performance 3D data acquisition across a wide range of cultural heritage applications. A particular focus will be placed on the RIEGL VZ-600i 3D terrestrial laser scanner, demonstrating how its speed, accuracy, and mobility enable the efficient documentation and preservation of archaeological sites, historic monuments, and cultural landscapes worldwide.
