LiDAR Support Engineer-Kinematic (Level 2)

Responsibilities

Technical Support & Customer Interaction

  • Resolve support tickets and answer inquiries related to all kinematic divisions (Airborne, Unmanned, Mobile, Bathymetric)
  • Communicate with customers via email, office phone, and after-hours phone
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting sessions with the customer using TeamViewer for hardware and software issues
  • Work directly with customers in-office or on-site (Travel required) to diagnose and troubleshoot system issues
  • Assists in Airborne training to customers
  • Participate in the after-hours support program
  • Assist in training new or existing customers as needed

 

Documentation & Workflow Management

  • Create step-by-step documentation for resolving support issues
  • Develop or update internal documentation and workflows for system testing, installation, data acquisition, and data processing
  • Publish and maintain this content internally and use it for colleague training
  • Keep accurate and organized support case records and data repositories
  • Log and update all relevant information in Salesforce

 

System Testing, QA/QC & Calibration

  • Perform QA/QC work orders for all systems prior to customer delivery or after RLMS repairs
  • Support all kinematic system testing for demos, training, or calibrations

 

Cross-Team & Manufacturer Communication

  • Communicate critical product issues to the manufacturer (directly or via proper channels)
  • Provide technical feedback to developers to improve the RIEGL customer experience
  • Update internal staff on changes to ALS hardware and software
  • Communicate with RIEGL Austria daily when needed

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Computer engineering, or computer science preferred
  • Experience with customer support
  • An interest in lasers and photonics
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Travel to customer’s office/site when deemed necessary (Overall 5 – 10% travel expected)
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software, such as Microsoft Office Suite with expert Excel skills, Adobe Suite, Internet, and web programming
