FIG Commissions 5, 6 Workshop
The third FIG Commissions 5 and 6 Workshop, organised by the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), Mongolian Association of Geodesy, Photogrammetry & Cartography (MAGP&C) and Siberian State Academy of Geodesy (SSGA), will be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, September 4 - 8.
The key issues discussed are as follows:
-) Prediction of Earth's surface and engineering structures deformations and movements in areas of tectonically and technogenically active hazardous zones using geodetic observations.
-) Airborne Lidar and terrestrial laser scanning systems. Their usage in architecture, civil and mining engineering, industry, ecology, oil and gas production.
-) Engineering and mine surveys for exploration and prospecting of mineral resources.
-) GIS technologies for designing, construction, operation and maintenance of engineering objects and facilities in mining industry, and ecology.
-) Geospatial data infrastructure.
-) Real time GNNS application in navigation, mapping, and geodetic monitoring of vast territories and engineering structures.
-) Earth remote sensing using aerial photography, satellite imagery and airborne LiDAR survey.
-) Application of remote sensing data and geodetic observations in forecasting and crisis and emergency management.
RIEGL Laser Scanners and Laser Scanning Systems will be represented by its distribution partner for the Russian Federation, ARTGEO (www.art-geo.ru).
