Billions of points argue for scanopy -
Imagination presents a new tool at INTERGEO 2011

Today, we present a software tool engineered by an Austrian company that is capable to deal with huge amounts of point cloud data. “Imagination” (www.imagination.at) will launch a brand new real time editor for data acquired with laser scanning systems at INTERGEO 2011 in Nuremberg.

For some months, scanopy has been shown to, respectively been evaluated in field trials by various communities working with laser scanning data. Their feedback to this new product has been taken up and either already been implemented in the first public release of scanopy or included into the product road map.

Scanopy is the best solution for experiencing huge point clouds (>10 billion points) in real time. The software can be used as a desktop solution, including all features needed to edit, view and measure point clouds as well as to prepare exciting public presentations.

Several examples of 3D data captured with different models of RIEGL laser scanners (airborne, terrestrial, mobile) will be shown at INTERGEO and can be tested excessively. The outstanding quality of RIEGL’s laser scanning systems will be made visible in real time with scanopy; so do not miss this opportunity!
Imagination’s booth (7.C19) will be opposite RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems’ stand (7.C13); you cannot miss us - pass by for an exciting demonstration.

To boost the feeling of flying the point cloud, scanopy will be presented at the Panorama Terminal zacturn (www.zkoor.com/websiteredax/23-1-overview.html#./files/banner6.png) by Vienna based z-koor, opening up a brand new world of interactive presentation for all users. On the picture, you can see Johannes Riegl Jr. cruising through Vienna’s inner district with scanopy at zacturn. The related data have been acquired with RIEGL laser scanners.
